The following attributes qualify prospective students for admission into University of Mkar:
(i) Willingness to be moulded by the University authorities intellectually, morally and spiritually.
(ii) Possession of a minimum of five (5) O'level credits inclusive of English Language obtained at not more than two (2) sittings in SSCE/WAEC/NECO. This is in addition to at least obtaining the national cut-off marks in the UTME. Credit pass in Mathematics is required for Pure, Applied and Management Science courses.
(iii) Direct Entry candidates must possess at least two (2) A'level passes in relevant subjects in addition to meeting the O'level requirement of three (3) credit passes (minimum).
(iv) All applicants seeking admission into the University must also complete the University’s Application Form for admission into degree programme and sit and obtain acceptable grade of pass in the Aptitude Test (Post Universities Matriculation Examination) conducted by the University before being considered for admission.
(v) The University also runs a 1-year Preliminary Studies Programme to assist candidates remedy their ‘O’ level subject deficiencies. Candidates seeking admission to this programme must possess at least four (4) credit passes in relevant subjects in WAEC, NECO, or GCE at not more than two (2) sittings.
(vi) Diploma - At least four (4) 'O' level credit passes in relevant subjects including English Language. For postgraduate diploma, minimum of HND/University degree in the relevant field is acceptable. |
